The team from LAVECO’s office in Budapest celebrated the successes of the year with a good-spirited dinner. We reflected on the most significant moments and events of the year. Not for the first time, the Dionysos Restaurant played host to the celebrations. This was not by chance, as the Greek kitchen is both appetising and delicious, and everything is freshly prepared in the restaurant. The Mediterranean wines also added to the atmosphere which developed as the evening went on. We hope that a year from now we will be celebrating the end of another year and seeing in a new one in similar fashion.

The central LAVECO Ltd. website, www.laveco.com is constantly being updated. It is almost a year now since totally new English and Hungarian versions appeared. From now, the Russian, Romanian and Bulgarian versions are also available in the new format. It is well worth returning to our web pages on a regular basis, as this is the most efficient way for our clients to keep up to date with any changes, as well as special offers and discounts offered by LAVECO Ltd.

In August two new members of staff joined the team in LAVECO’s office in Cyprus. Elizabeth Nicolaou will be joining the administration team while Chryso Saouri will be working with the accounting and fiduciary services department. Their enthusiasm and youthful energy will further strengthen the services of LAVECO Ltd. in Cyprus.

On June 1st 2012 LAVECO Ltd. opened a larger, more spacious office in Cyprus. The LAVECO team had outgrown the original office they had been using for 13 years since 1999 and which was now just too small. The new office meets all the requirements from every point of view of a company involved in today’s company formation and administration world.
Our staff and business partners enjoyed a pleasant official opening celebration, which also saw a priest from one of Larnaca’s churches bless the premises in keeping with orthodox traditions. We hope that our new office will serve us for many years to come, to the satisfaction of both our current and future client.

LAVECO Ltd. has entered an agreement with the KDB Bank, whereby in the future LAVECO clients will be able to open accounts with the bank. Under the terms of the agreement, clients of LAVECO Ltd. can open accounts in any Hungarian branch of the bank at pre-arranged appointments. It is advisable to contact our customer service department as it is worth checking the exact terms in advance. Sending the company papers to the bank in advance, for example, can speed up the account opening process and means having to spend less time waiting in the branch. Checking the paperwork usually takes 2-3 working days, after which the bank informs the client whether or not they will be able to open an account. LAVECO staff took part in MIPIM, the international real estate exhibition held in Cannes, France from March 6th to 9th, for the fourth time. Numerous interested parties came to visit us at stand R32.37 in the Riviera Hall. There were also many familiar faces from previous years who came back to see us. It is always a pleasure to welcome back old acquaintances, and to chat about the current situation or discuss business solutions in which we both share an interest.
In addition to strict business meetings, there was also time for some light-hearted entertainment. The various confectionery, Hungarian Tokay wines and goose liver available to visitors to our stand were particularly popular. The main prize in the raffles on March 6th and 7th was a bottle of vintage 1972 6-butt Tokay Aszu wine. The winners were presented with the noble bottles by László Váradi, managing director of LAVECO Ltd.
All of us who attended the exhibition agreed that this year’s event was richer in content and more successful than events of earlier years. The truth is, we are already waiting for the next MIPIM event, where we can continue our business discussions.

László Váradi, director of LAVECO Ltd., introduced the new members of staff to the company’s business partners, bankers, lawyers and accountants in the course of a very pleasant Christmas dinner held in Larnaca on December 16th 2011. Eleni Hadjisofokli, Filio Kotsioni and Andreas Katzianis will be strengthening the company administration department of LAVECO’s team in Cyprus.

It’s true, 20 years have now passed since the company founders, Jekatyerina and László Váradi, signed the formation documents. Although in the early 90s they themselves never thought that the company would live for 20 years, that time has now come, and the company can boast offices in 6 countries, as LAVECO established subsidiaries in Romania in 1998, in Cyprus in 1999, in the UK in 2000, in Bulgaria in 2004 and in the Seychelles in 2008, none of which operate as franchise enterprises. On September 16th 2011 the LAVECO staff, together with friends and acquaintances of the founders, and a number of business partners celebrated this significant anniversary with a fun and family-orientated event to reflect upon the events and successes of the past two decades. The highlight of the evening was a concert by the Benkó Dixieland Band, which provided the guests who had come to Budapest from numerous countries with an unforgettable experience. Maybe Sándor Benkó and his band also played for the audience with even more enthusiasm than normal.

Professional service providers from the world offshore market came together from March 23 – 24, 2011 for the international tax conference held at the Westin Dragonara Hotel in Malta. Some 350 lawyers, tax consultants, auditors and management consultants spent the two days discussing the latest developments in the profession and the world market. In addition to the informative presentations, the participants from LAVECO Ltd. also gleaned plenty of information from informal conversations in the corridors. The next similar event will be held in Moscow in the autumn.

Our colleagues participated at MIPIM, one of the most significant real estate exhibitions in the world, for the third time. Some 18 000 visitors attended the real estate expo which was held in Cannes from March 7 – 11, 2011. Those enquiring at our stand about the services of LAVECO Ltd. were also able to taste Tokaj wines and Hungarian chocolates.

The development team behind the LAVECO website are constantly working on refreshing the web page and updating information. It is well worth keeping track of the information and material published here. In keeping with the times, you can also now find the Facebook and Twitter icons on our pages. Over the next few months we plan to share plenty of new information with our visitors via these two social networking sites. We are not trying to compete with the LAVECO Newsletter, which we will continue to issue on a quarterly basis, but there are always lots of short pieces of news or information which we would like to share with our readers as soon as we hear about them.
